Pattern: It's my own "design", based on measurements from my leg (see below). Basically, a project to figure out the best placement of increases and decreases for socks with a longer leg. Will be used as the model for future sock projects.
Yarn: Mountain Colors 4/8's Wool, 100% wool, 250 yds per skein
2 balls main color - Northern Lights, 1 ball toes & heels - Yellowstone
Needle: 3mm
Gauge: 24 stitches X 36 rows = 4 inch square
Note: This sock is knitted from the toe up. The fit is very snug so that the legs stay up.
Actual leg/foot measurements:
Length of Leg from below knee to floor = 15.5 inches
Calf circumference* = 16.25 inches
Ankle circumference* = 8.5 inches
Foot circumference* = 9 inches
Length of foot from toe to heel = 9 inches
*widest part
A. Toe: With contrasting color, cast on 10 stitches per needle using figure eight method (from The Magic Loop). Do loop increases (from Latvian Dreams) every other row until there are a total of 48 stitches.
B. Foot: With main color knit foot 51 rows ( 6-3/8 in length). Circumference of foot is 8 inches.
C. Heel: With contrasting color, knit short row heels (from Simple Socks). First row should be knitted all the way to the end so contrasting color lines up correctly when other side is finished.
Length of foot from toe to heel is 9.5 inches.
D. Lower Leg: When Heel is done start leg with main color. Knit straight for 33 rows or 3.5 inches. There should be a total of 48 stitches on the needles.

F. Calf: Knit straight for 23 rows or 2-3/4 inches. Circumference of calf is 13 inches.
G. Upper Calf: Decrease on either side of the back two stitches. Do four sets of decreases with three rows between each set. Length of this section is 1-3/4 inches
