Diagonal Hat

Diagonal_hat_2

Pattern: Diagonal Hat by Jean Wong

Yarn:
Noro Kureyon
Color: 148, lot 8

Needle Size:
4.00 mm

Gauge:
18 sts = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Adjustments: Pattern says to make five panels. When finished with five panels the bottom edge had a 20 inch circumference which was too small for me. My head measurement is just over 22 inches so, I made an additional panel which resulted in a 23 inch circumference. The larger circumference makes the hat a bit loose and perhaps a bit more comfortable.

I might adjust the stitch and/or row count for the next hat.

Kitty Hat

Kitty_hatPattern: Official Kitty62 Hat from kittyville.com

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Merino Aran
100% merino wool
color 325606

Needle: US size 7

Notes:

- hat  measures approx. 20 inches at base (above the ear flaps)

- worked stockinette stitch for 2.75" instead of 3.75"

- used provisional cast-on and knitted flaps after working top.

- next time will try starting from flaps first so that hat edge won't be so noticeable

- once top and flaps were done, picked up stitches along  flap edges and then casting off these stitches along with provisional stitches to make a  finished edge.

Jester Hat

jester_finished Pattern: Jester Hat from Knit Baby Head & Toes! edited by Gwen Steege
Yarn: Rowan Wool Cotton
Gauge: 24 stitches per 4 inch inches on size 3.75mm needles
Note: The pattern calls for a gauge of 22 stitches per 4 inches on size 4mm needles but I thought that produced loose stitch tension. I was aiming to make the small sized hat so to compensate for the gauge change, I followed the instructions for the medium size except for the height. When the instructions refered to the height, I followed the instructions for the small size.
